Exploring the Cape and beyond
9 Days / 8 Nights
Cape Town to Johannesburg
On this luxury family adventure we weave together the most colourful facets of South Africa: from local personalities to encounters with wildlife; from the top of Table Mountain to the daily struggle in some of the townships below. Through a diversity of activities, we explore the landscapes of the Cape: from stand-up-paddle boarding through waterways and zip-lining over tree-tops to paddling a gentle river course. Once we have thoroughly exhausted the best of the Cape, we settle into a different tempo as we fly north to Sabi Sands to embark on a three-night safari. Discover the Little Five, track the Big Five and learn about the successes and challenges of wildlife conservation in Africa today. This family journey activates all the senses!

Day by Day
Once arriving in Cape Town, enjoy the day at your leisure while you adjust to the local time. Meet with your guides tonight for a welcome cocktail and dinner at one of Cape Town's trendy eateries.
Start your day with a lesson in stand up paddleboarding. After lunch, participate in a scavenger hunt in the Company Gardens. Take the cable car to the top of the mountain for a sunset toast!
Head out of the city towards the Cape Peninsula where you'll hop on your bike to explore the streets of Masiphumelele. This afternoon hike in the hills above scenic Kalk Bay, looping through rock formations and indigenous flora, a truly unique caving experience.
Journey to the Breede River Valley where you'll spend the morning on the river in inflatable canoes exploring the channels and river banks. Explore the pretty village of Franschhoek, where you'll be staying for the next two nights.
Head to apple growing country high in the mountains above the Cape Flats where we kit up in harnesses and helmets for an exciting aerial discovery of dramatic gorges and canyons offering stunning views out over the Cape countryside.
Today we flip to the Sabi Sand Reserve, the game in the Sabi Sands reserve is well habituated resulting in unforgettable close encounters and prolific sightings, particularly of the elusive leopard.
Over the next two days you will adjust to the gentle pace of safari life. A typical day starts early to prepare for your morning game drive. The aroma of morning coffee mingled with the rich fragrance of a crisp African dawn is an instant high.
Early afternoons are for napping, reading, meditating or doing absolutely nothing before you set out again in search of wildlife on an afternoon game drive. Meals are an event in themselves - be it lunch overlooking the waterhole or dinner under the stars with the light of hurricane lamps.
This morning we bid farewell to our new found friends at the lodge and fly via lodge hop to Kruger International, before connecting with a commercial flight to Johannesburg.
